Albuquerque’s Al Unser, Sr., was charged with obstructing officers responding to a carjacking and shooting in August 2006 in New Mexico. Official reports indicate that the 67-year-old attempted to bypass a police roadblock to access his property. Police ordered the four-time Indianapolis 500 winner to stop, at which point he exited his Ford Excursion and argued with authorities. He was arrested and taken to a Bernalillo County sheriff’s substation.
